Rattan has long been valued in the world of percussion for its natural flexibility, lightweight feel, and durability. Unlike synthetic or hardwood alternatives, Indonesian rattan has a smooth surface and subtle give that absorbs shock and enhances playing comfort. This makes it especially well-suited for marimba and xylophone mallets, where articulation, rebound, and control are key. Whether you're a solo performer, ensemble player, or educator, the quality of your mallet shaft directly impacts the tone and response of your playing. What sets Indonesian rattan apart is its fine grain and straight fibers, which allow for consistent shaping and a more predictable flex. Every stick I offer is carefully selected, cleaned, and straightened by hand to ensure it meets the demands of professional instrument making. I prepare the rattan in various diameters and lengths, suitable for different mallet head types and hardness — whether you're crafting soft, medium, or hard mallets. If you're a percussionist, mallet builder, or music educator in search of reliable, handcrafted rattan shafts for xylophones and marimbas, I invite you to try this premium material. Bulk orders, custom cuts, and international shipping are available upon request. Let's build better mallets together — starting with better materials.

We are committed to responsible production. All our rattan is ethically sourced, and we support local communities by providing fair employment and training opportunities to local artisans. By choosing our mallets, you're not just supporting a product — you're supporting a tradition of ethical, eco-friendly craftsmanship from Indonesia.

As makers and musicians ourselves, we understand the importance of comfort, balance, and tone. Our goal is not just to produce mallets, but to support your musical journey with tools you can trust and enjoy using every day.
